Actors Society members bring life to a timely play

Updated: 4 hours ago

The following article was originally published on alumni social media channels.

An evocative exploration of the search for a place to call home, I Want a Country, brings to life the real stories of individuals from diverse backgrounds, each on a unique journey driven by war, poverty, persecution, and the desire to find a safe and welcoming place to belong.

Amongst the cast are Actors Society Members Genevieve Ngosa Daniels ('23), Rodolfo Ornelas (‘23), Rebecca Wood (‘22), & Goran Popovic (‘21).

Written by Andreas Flourakis and translated by Eleni Drivas, the narrative is brought to life by a talented theatrical chorus, presenting personal and collective voices that resonate with authenticity and emotion. Going beyond the script, cast members will perform monologues inspired by their own life experiences, and original songs collaborating closely with our show's composer, Peter Douskalis.

The show runs Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays from Nov. 9th to Nov. 24th at the Hellenic Cultural Center.
