Every week we look back at some of our most recognizable and celebrated alumni collaborations in history.
This Thursday we have an amazing alumni collaboration for you! Kirk Douglas as Dempsey Rae and Claire Trevor as Idonee in “Man Without a Star”. The film premiered in 1955 and was directed by King Vidor.
Fun fact: This film was one of the first films Kirk Douglas made through his production company. The film was a huge box office hit. Also, the horse Kirk Douglas rides in the movie is a movie star in his own right. The horse’s name is Pie and appeared in 17 westerns. Beside Douglas, he was ridden by Jimmy Stewart, Glenn Ford and Audie Murphy.
