Alumni Collaborations: Judd Hirsch in Robert Redford's 'Ordinary People'

Every week we like to look back at one of our most recognizable and celebrated alumni collaborations in history.

Today we have a collaboration that didn’t take place in front of the camera! Judd Hirsch played Berger in "Ordinary People," a Robert Redford directed film. Premiering in 1980, "Ordinary People" received 6 Oscar nominations and 4 wins. The film was Redford's directorial debut.

Fun fact: Robert Redford decided to do the film because the story's family reminded him of his own in the way it talked around issues.
