Alumni-in-the-News, End of March ’23

New Off-Broadway musical, Dream On, Baransky! tells the story of Jonathan Baransky and his journey through romance and therapy, and showcases countless alumni.


Academy alumni in the cast includes: Amber Brookes (Class of 2020), Jospeh Monseur (Class of 2019), Anita Moreno (Class of 2020), Alisa Mironova (Class of 2021), Marie-Louise Boisnier (Class of 2021), Sky Spallone, Jeffrey Jafaar Larachai, Dustin Pazar, Elizah Hill, Quinn Nguyen (Class of 2020), Karolina Larion (Class of 2021), Isaias Badilla (Class of 2021).The musical is written by Rich and Dale Baron, and directed by Jake Minter (‘16).


Dream On, Baransky! runs from March 22nd to April 8th at The American Theatre of Actors.

2017 alum Yessi Sanchez has two feature films releasing this year: City of Love, and Mind Over Max. Sanchez was also the lead in an episode of German TV show X-Fakor: Das Unfassbare.

Taylor Mac is teaming up with Jason Robert Brown on a musical adaptation of John Berendt’s Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Tony-winner Rob Ashford is set to direct, with choreography by Tanya Birl and Sarah O’Gleby.


Mac is the playwright behind some of the American theatre’s most eclectic pieces, from Gary: A Sequel to Titus Andronicus and the cabaret-style A 24-Decade History of Popular Music.

The David Lowery and Anne Hathaway (ST '91) penned "epic pop melodrama" Mother Mary has been picked up by production company A24. Hathaway is set to star with Lowery to direct.

Ted Lasso season three, co-written & starring Bret Goldstein (ST '03), premeried mid-March with some "historic viewership numbers."
