Last week the Daytime Emmy nominations were announced, and, as per usual, The Academy was represented; Robert Gossett (Class of 197) was nominated in the “Outstanding Guest Performance in a Drama Series” category for his performance as Marshall Ashford in ABC’s General Hospital.
Marshall Ashford is the mysterious long-lost dad to series regular Curtis Ashford, played by Donnell Turner. He has returned to “claim what he thinks is his.” This shady character's secret past will come to light as the show moves forward as the studio has decided to make him a series regular.
Robert Gossett was born in The Bronx, New York, and is a veteran of the stage and screen. He was a series regular on such hit shows as; Beverly Hills, 90210, The Closer, Major Crimes, and The Oath. He also had roles in The Batman Returns and Arlington Road, which starred Jeff Bridges, Tim Robbins, and Joan Cusack. He is married to LA Academy staff member Michele Gossett and frequently returns to talk with current students.
