Academy Grad Jennifer Granholm Confirmed as Energy Secretary

Jennifer Granholm (Class of 1980) comes as the latest addition to President Biden's Cabinet, being confirmed this afternoon as Energy Secretary. Granholm has long pushed for renewable energy, and is likely to have a considerable effect on the success of Biden's Presidency.


Ms. Granholm has a strong educational background, hailing first from the The Academy (her roots), then venturing to the University of California Berkeley, and finally onto Harvard Law School.


With a career in politics, Granholm has worked for numerous political campaigns, served as Michigan Attorney General and its first female Governor, and has taught as a Professor for many years.


Since 2008, Granholm was mentioned as a possible Energy Secretary, finally securing the position under the Biden-Harris Administration.
