Tonight, Marvel launches their phase five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania starring Paul Rudd (Class of 1991) as Scott Lang/Ant-Man.

Our heroes find themselves stuck in the quantum realm, where they encounter strange creatures and circumstances that stretch what their minds conceived as possible. The film will introduce one of Marvel comics' biggest antagonists, the super-genius Kang the Conqueror, who seeks to conquer the multiverse. Kang is the most powerful villain in the MCU, as he has the ability to wipe out universes and destroy entire timelines within the multiverse. Rudd said, on working with Johnathan Majors, the actor playing Kang, “it's legit. It feels intense. He’s a great actor, and throughout the entire film, he really felt as if he was a formidable foe.”

This will be Rudd’s third time donning the Ant-Man suit in a standalone movie. In the past Ant-Man and his films have served as the comic relief of the MCU, but that may change with Quantamania. “We did talk about the fact that this is our third one out and that it would be cool to take a big swing. And it felt like it would be right because it’s starting off phase five,” stated Paul. “‘This movie is the biggest of the three. We decided if we had a chance to make a third round, we wanted to go nuts,’ director Peyton Reed (who also helmed the previous two Ant-Man films) told The Hollywood Reporter.”

The film also stars Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Bill Murray. It hits theaters exclusively on February 17th. Watch the trailer below.
